Spring Meeting
April 29th and 30th 2005
The spring meeting was held at the Doubletree Hotel in
TN Chapter President Susan Scearce called the meeting to
order at
The instructional program covered the 2005 NEC Analysis of
changes and was presented by instructors, John Minick (NEMA) and Amos Lowrance
(City of
Lunch was provided for all participants by the TN Chapter at the Doubletree Hotel restaurant.
The meeting resumed at
Mike Evans, chairman of the auditing committee accepted the audit for the fiscal year of 2004.
Rusty Thompson, chairman of the nominating committee called forward the nominees for the 2005 TN Chapter Board officers and members.
Southern Section President James Kennedy installed the new Chapter Officers and Board Members.

Fall
Meeting
The fall meeting was held at the Doubletree Hotel in
Murfreesboro, TN on November 3 and 4, 2003.
Registration began at 7:30 a.m. on November 3.
Tennessee Chapter President, H. L. England, called the
meeting to order at 8:30 am.
Chaplain, David Perry gave the invocation and led the
pledge of allegiance.
President England presented Lewis Ryan and Charles West
with certificates for 25-year memberships in the Tennessee Chapter IAEI.
Recipients not present were Arch Rowe and Jesse Hesson whose certificates
will be mailed to them.
President England recognized former Southern Section
President, Bob Dowdy, for his service and achievements.

presentation on articles 230 and 240 of the National Electrical Code
(NEC).
Lunch was provided by the Tennessee Chapter at the
Doubletree Hotel Restaurant.
Joe Feyka with Cooper Bussman gave a presentation on arc
flash hazards and protection.
Mark Ode discussed Article 100 (definitions) of the NEC
and how to identify and apply code requirements based on these definitions.

The 2003 Spring meeting was held at the Garden Plaza Hotel in Murfreesboro TN. on May 5th and 6th . Registration began at 7:30 am. Chapter President Amos Lowrance called the meeting to order at 8:30 am. David Perry (chaplain) led the Pledge of Allegiance and gave the invocation.
Special guest was Robert Dowdy (Southern Section President).
Exhibitors were Joe Feyka (Cooper Bussman), and Arthur C. Evans Jr. (Underwriters Laboratories Inc.).
The program was comprised of a presentation by Joe Feyka on fault current and overload co-ordination, and an in depth presentation on grounding by John Minick (NEMA) based on the Soares Book of Grounding.
Lunch was provided by the Tennessee Chapter at the Garden Plaza Hotel.
Beginning the afternoon session, the financial report was given and approved by the auditing committee. The resolution committee made its report and a resolution of respect was adopted regarding Bob Scott. The slate of officers for the upcoming year were presented by the nominating committee and approved as read. The new officers were then sworn in by Robert Dowdy. Outgoing Chapter President Amos Lowrance, presented the gavel to the incoming Chapter President, H.L. England. President England then presented Amos Lowrance with a plaque of appreciation for faithful and dedicated service.

The Tennessee Chapter fall meeting will be held on November 3rd and 4th at The Garden Plaza Hotel in Murfreesboro TN. ( The Garden Plaza Hotels name will be changed to the Doubletree Hotel.)
The 2003 Southern Section Diamond Jubilee Meeting will be held on September 7th 13th at The Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando Florida.

President England called the meeting to order on May 5th at 8:00 am. John Minick continued his presentation on grounding and also spoke briefly about IAEI membership and the benefits of being a member.
There were 100 inspectors, contractors and students and other interested parties present.

Correlating Committee Chairman) and Larry Chan (Southern Section President).

answers based on the 2002 National Electric Code. The code panelist were Alan
Manche (Square D Company), John Minick (NEMA), Ron Stockton (UL), and Larry Chan
(Southern Section President). Moderators were Ernie Broome (Chief Electrical
Inspector Knoxville), Bob Dowdy (Chief Electrical Inspector Nashville),
Dennis Gray (Deputy Electrical Inspector State of Tn.), David Perry
(Chaplain), and John Carpenter.
Lunch was provided by the Tennessee Chapter of
the IAEI at the Garden Plaza Hotel Restaurant.

at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville on October 13,14, and 15th.

Code discussions were resumed after
installation of the officers. John Minick gave a power point presentation on Arc
Fault Breakers, theory, and technology. The meeting was adjourned by Amos
Lowrance at 4:30 p.m.

The code panelist continued the question and
answer session.
Everyone was reminded to actively pursue the
Ad sales and donations for the upcoming Southern Section Meeting.
